Ahhh....Time to think....I hope!

Hey all,

Sorry, it's been awhile, and I still don't have much time before summer school starts, but here goes....

School's out! In a week or so we'll be starting summer school again, but hopefully it will be a bit more relaxed and less time consuming than the last few months have been. Something to pray for. Pray for the summer school teachers, the kids, the learning, transitioning, everything. We should have all the teachers we need for the coming year, so start praying that the team can gel together, work hard, and have a good year next year. We finished the year well, with a bombardment day, an exhibition of student work, including speeches and impersonations, and a game or two of "Blind Tanks." I'm hoping to include at least one video with this blog, but I'm not sure it will work since I was unable to load photos for my last blog. Not sure what the problem is, but hopefully it won't get in the way with this one.

My younger brother Ryan came down with the Princeville work team and it was good to have him down, along with some of the other people from home, like my aunt Mary and cousins Victoria and Alivia. Ryan was an instant celebrity, being my brother, and did a presentation/demonstration of physical therapy, while Victoria and Alivia seemed to be pretty popular with the kids, especially Frankie.

This week, Washington brought a team down and it was good to see my cousin Austin along with the Fehrs and a few others. Austin was also an instant celebrity, partly because he's my cousin and partly because for some reason, Frankie and Uriel really latched on to him immediately, which is not so unusual for Frankie (if you're a girl) but very unusual for Uriel, since Uriel hardly speaks to anyone in Spanish, let alone when he has to use English.

In other news, Bill and Joan were able to cross the border with Uriel and Lily, so you may be seeing them around for a month or so in Central Illinois.

Child profile: Candi (short for Candelaria) is 4, about to enter kindergarten, far too cute for her own good, and generally doesn't get into too much trouble. That doesn't say much, since she's only four, but pray for Candi that first of all her cuteness won't corrupt her heart (too much attention, etc.), that her heart will be clean and free of the anger and impetuosity that characterize (unfortunately) her older brothers, and that she will have a heart for God as she grows and matures.

Don't forget to check out the new photos on photobucket. Just click on the link at right. Also, for an impersonation of me by Karla and Fede, click below.

That's all for now!

Thanks,

Todd

  1. Hi Toddly!! Always good to see you at your finest in these photos-I'm so glad you're using your talents to serve Him in a mighty way. We are anxious to hear all about Austin's experiences in Mexico - we missed him here - so quiet without him around. Hope he was a blessing to CVE and that his walk with Christ will be strengthened. Love you. A. Sandra
