Finally! Time to Catch Up!

So, anyway, I haven't written since the last time I was home, and I'm a little behind...oops!

I'm going to split this up between several posts so as to allow space for more pictures...so don't stop reading with this one!

News since New Year's is a little fuzzy for me, but here's a general sampling of the highlights...

Over New Year's I had a chance to visit Leo again and catch up with old friends. It was a nice, slow visit, lots of sitting around and talking.

As soon as I got back down to CVE, I jumped right in to taking care of Joel and Kristi's boys (Angel, Jose, Isaac, and Daniel), which was a nice little adventure. I did a lot of reading, ate lots of Mom's Chex mix, and enjoyed the following scenario...Angel was in charge of taking care of rabbits until then, when Eddie, a much younger little squirt, was given the privilege of taking care of the male...the day before the changeover took place, Angel explained to Eddie that the male had to stay with the female one more day...so Eddie says, "Why?" Angel stammered, then said, "He has to 'load' her." Eddie say, "Ohhh....How?"

In February, my parents came down for a week to visit, so that was fun, even though things got a little crazy right about then. Also that week, Jon and Amy Gerst brought their two adopted girls from Ethiopia for a visit, and we had them in to my English class to talk about adoption.

The Saturday after my parents left for home, we had a Fight Night for the boys and men and wannabe men on campus...the night started with pizza and Kung Fu Panda, then finished with lots of sweaty boys with their shirts off and their underwear and pants stretched very, very tightly...upward. See the youtube videos for some interesting footage...Limon, Joel Rink, and Wedgie Wars!!

Also, some other interesting clips on youtube might be the science presentations made by Fede and Karla, or the rather interesting play put on by Angel, Alexia, Ana, and Tania...written by themselves!

Child of the Month...Jorge!
Jorge is 2 years old, a recent arrival with a broken femur. He was very, very quiet and reserved at first, but is starting to get comfortable with the attention and smile and interact a lot more. He still doesn't talk much, but has a cute smile. He has a tendency to act helpless (he kind of is helpless, but more so than he would have to be...) and eats like a horse if you feed him, but is still pretty much an unknown to me. Time will tell when the cast comes off and he has to fend for himself a bit more. Pray for Jorge that he can be more independent and confident, but especially that he would be soft and receptive, in spite of his past home life, to the love and affection of Christ.

In addition to the photos and videos in this post, don't forget to read the other posts and check out all the available photos on my photobucket site using the link at right.

Thanks,

Todd
